HOW TO CHOOSE A LAPTOP
Laptops: - Laptops are designed mainly for mobility. So, main
features of the laptop are weight and compact size. Next is Design and Display,
performance, connectivity with other devices, Cooling system and easy
updateable to next generation.
Weight and Size of Laptop:-
Weight and Size are proportional to each other, to reduce weight some of
components are not assemble like CD/DVD/ BLUE RAY, WIFI, BLUE TOOTH,
JACK-PORTS,
For better Performance processer used Duel core Quad core
Octa core I3, I5, I7 in GHZ with ram 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or8 GB RAM
The Intel Turbo Boost Technology allows a processor to
dynamically increase its clock speed whenever the need arises. The maximum
amount that Turbo Boost can raise clock speed at any given time is dependent on
the number of active cores, the estimated current consumption, the estimated
power consumption, and the processor temperature.
Basically, RAM
minimises interaction with the hard disk, while cache minimises interaction
with the RAM. Obviously, with a larger cache, more data can be accessed
quickly. So when purchasing the laptop maximum catch in minimum budget is the
best option.
Similarly, threading is also one more important thing which
increases the cores. I3 execute only two threads at a time, I5 four threads and
I7 execute eight threads for normal use I3 computer is enough for large graphic
programs and for calculations I5 or I7 is must.
Intel and AMD are the two processors available in market. Choose
the best suitable processor for your laptop performance. Both are working in
good conditions. AMD is cheaper than Intel.
Cooling system: - The compact size of laptop heats-up rapidly
for high-end program calculations and graphics. So, verify about Laptop running
with enough cooling system before purchase.
Display: - The main advantage of LED is lower power usage and
this is especially true for a laptop because battery power is always a big
concern. LED technology allows richer colour and a brighter screen. It doesn’t
take time to warm up as some old LCD screens will. With LED backlighting, the
contrast is better and the colour is more accurate. These factors are difficult
to notice especially since many LEDs will adjust brightness depending on the
ambient light level which is another key factor that explains the push to adapt
LED technology. LED backlight screens are lighter and thinner as well. Both
qualities are highly desirable in the laptop market. This is the consideration
that makes people pause their thought. LED screens are always more expensive
than LCD
On comparing LCD and LED screen laptop, LED offers a lot of
advantages, if you can afford it.
Screen sizes: laptops are available from 10.1”, 11.6”, 12.5”,
13.3”, 14,” 15.6”, 17.3” and 18.4” large screens have high quality and views
because of its pixels per cm

More pixels per sq.cm gives best picture quality.
For normal use online work and office work minimum pixels are
sufficient
For high end graphics and watching videos XGA,SXGA,UXGA,HD,
FHD WQHD, 2K, OR 4K is required but these are expensive.
Brightness and Contrast ratio adjusts the colour balance. Higher
ratio of the B&C gives u best quality picture.
For gaming and online calling facilities HD web cam, mic,
inbuilt speakers are required.
Improved Battery Life with Li-ion or Li- polymer Battery 3cell,
4cell, 6 cell, 8cell or 9 cell batteries are available in the market. Increase
in number of cells, working time increases without charger. For common use 6
cell battery is enough. For small laptops 3 or 4 cell batteries are used, for
graphics and long duration 8 or 9 cell battery is used.
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity 2 or more required,
Bluetooth 3.0 or Higher and Wi-Fi is must to connect network and for faster
downloading. Laptop must be easy to connect to Projector or secondary monitor,
Virtual reality unit or any other accessories and a wide range of Printers or
plotters
Style: - The external and internal features of the products
impress the Customers. Inbuilt useful apps, downloadable apps, hardness, light
in weight, slimness, smooth touch and materials used to manufacture and finally
colour. Warranty, part warranty or service warranty from purchase date is to be
considered. Best warranty period is more than 1year. If the company has no
option of giving more than one year warranty, it is better to take 2yrs more
additionally.
So finally performance, style, warranty, easy service and
price of the product decide which laptop is to be bought.
